Vacuum Polarization Instead of “Dark Matter” in a Galaxy

چکیده
We considered a vacuum polarization inside galaxy in the eikonal approximation and found that two possible types of exist. The first type is described by equation state p=ρ/3, similar to radiation. Using conformally unimodular metric allows us construct non-singular solution for this “substance” if compact astrophysical object exists galaxy’s center. As result, “dark” galactical halo appears increases rotation velocity test particle as function distance from galactic second has more complicated state. static physical effect, it produces renormalization gravitational constant, thus, causing no halo. However, non-stationary type, resulting an exponential increase (or decrease) nuclei mass with time some hypothetical time-dependent process, potential, appearing dark matter

Gravitational vacuum polarization as an alternative to dark matter
It is assumed that the quantum vacuum may be studied as consisting of two contributions, with positive and negative energy respectively, which interact but slightly and may be displaced from each other. Then it is proposed that dark matter may be just an increase of the quantum vacuum energy, with respect to the normal dark energy level, induced by the gravitational field of galaxies or cluster...
متن کاملThe galaxy-dark matter connection
What galaxy lives in what halo? The answer to this simple question holds important information regarding galaxy formation and evolution. We describe a new statistical technique to link galaxies to their dark matter haloes, or light to mass, using the clustering properties of galaxies as function of their luminosity. The galaxy-dark matter connection thus established, and parameterized through t...
متن کاملGalaxy Formation and Dark Matter
The challenge of dark matter may be addressed in two ways; by studying the confrontation of structure formation with observation and by direct and indirect searches. In this review, I will focus on those aspects of dark matter that are relevant for understanding galaxy formation, and describe the outlook for detecting the most elusive component, non-baryonic dark matter. Galaxy formation theory...
متن کاملShallow dark matter cusps in galaxy clusters
We study the evolution of the stellar and dark matter components in a galaxy cluster of 1015 M from z = 3 to the present epoch using the high-resolution collisionless simulations of Ruszkowski & Springel. At z = 3 the dominant progenitor haloes were populated with spherical model galaxies with and without accounting for adiabatic contraction. We apply a weighting scheme which allows us to chang...
متن کاملGalaxy Voids in Cold Dark Matter Universes
We present predictions for numerous statistics related to the presence of voids in the distribution of galaxies in a cold dark matter model of structure formation using a semi-analytic model of galaxy formation. Our study is able to probe galaxies with masses as low as 10hM⊙ corresponding to absolute magnitudes of MbJ − 5 log h = −18.1 and Mr − 5 log h = −18.7. We quantify the void and underden...
